Foxconn confirms production on Wisconsin factory to start by 2020

The electronics industry company, Foxconn Technology Group, has announced it will complete work on a new factory in Wisconsin to begin production before the end of 2020, according to Reuters.

With the next phases of factory construction expected to start by the summer, the facility in Wisconsin will commence work during the fourth quarter of 2020.

Having initially planned to manufacture advanced large-screen displays for TVs and other consumer and professional products at the Wisconsin unit, it has now been revealed that it would build smaller Generation 6 LCD screens instead.

It is anticipated that the initial Gen6 factory was originally going to manufacture screens for medical and healthcare, education, security, entertainment and sports and smart cities products.

The company revealed in February that Foxconn would continue to develop its Wisconsin factory after the firm’s chairman held discussions with US President Donald Trump.
