National Motorsport Week kicked off yesterday, with over 200 international cross-sector business leaders able to experience the 'Best of British' at the Motorsport Industry Association's Driving Future Motorsport Business Growth Conference, on the 7th of July.

130 delegates from over 90 organisations are already confirmed to attend, to learn from and engage with prominent speakers and panellists including Stephen Ball, Strategy Adviser at Lockheed Martin International; Roz Bird, Commercial Director at Silverstone Park; Ian Constance, Chief Executive of the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK; Lawrence Davies MBE, CEO of the Automotive Investment Organisation; Tony Harper, Head of Research at Jaguar Land Rover; Roland Meister, Head of Automotive, Aerospace and Autonomous Connected Vehicles at Innovate UK; Adrian Moore, Managing Director of Xtrac; Mark Preston, Team Principal at Team Aguri; Simon Roberts, Operations Director of McLaren-Honda Formula 1 Team, alongside many others.

The conference takes place at the headquarters of the Sahara Force India Formula One Team in the heart of Motorsport Valley.

The unique combined conference and showcase will explore current and future developments within the world of motorsport, alongside a display of cutting-edge innovations from the UK’s world-leading high performance engineering community.

Featuring a range of stunning vehicle and technology showcases, the event will explore three key themes – all focused on driving future business growth:

  • Maximising international trade: keeping the UK in pole position
  • Growth outside motorsport: enhanced cross-sector collaboration
  • Motorsport Valley: an innovative business community

Chris Aylett, CEO of the MIA, commented: “Motorsport and high performance engineering is one of Britain’s proudest and most enduring industries and we’re excited to be showcasing it to the world at this conference. We’re looking to explore not only how motorsport is a key industry for driving British business growth, but also how it can continue to work with other sectors to help maintain the UK’s status as a world-leading exporter.

“We’re delighted to be hosting the Driving Future Motorsport Business Growth Conference at a venue synonymous with UK engineering excellence and in the flagship week of the British motorsport calendar. The event is truly a great opportunity for delegates to share their views and network with some of the leading names in international business.”
